What is E-Liquid?
E-liquid, also known as e-juice or vape juice, is the concentrated liquid that is used by Vapes to create the flavored vapor. Often, e-liquid is made with propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, glycerol, and nicotine. There are also other chemicals mixed in that are used to create flavors, and in some cases, water is added to help negate any dehydrating effects of vaping. In summary:
Propylene glycol (PG) is an odorless liquid that carries the flavor of the vape juice. It is thinner than Vegetable Glycerin and is often used in things like ice cream and food enhancers to maximize flavor.
Vegetable glycerin (VG) is a thick, sweet liquid that is smoother on the inhale. It is found in a variety of commercial products like caramel, soap, and toothpaste. These serve as the foundational flavor base for your e-liquid.
Finally, Nicotine is the addictive ingredient found in tobacco products. You can purchase e-liquid without nicotine, as this ingredient is optional for bottled e-liquid. Do note that most disposables are pre-loaded with nicotine.
How to Choose An E-Liquid
Choosing an E-Liquid comes down to ingredients, flavors, and nicotine concentration. Depending on your device and preference, you will either want an e-liquid based on PG or VG (and in some rare cases water.) The choice of base will determine the overall hit, although all three ingredients are present it is the different proportions that make for a shift in vape feel.
Flavor’s for e-liquid really comes down to personal preference. There are hundreds if not thousands of different flavors to choose from, and more are being created each day. In general, e-liquid is sorted into the following categories:

As for nicotine, you can purchase anywhere between no nicotine and 18mg depending on your habits. Nicotine will have a minor impact on taste, but overall is a preference used by previous smokers or those who enjoy nicotine products. What Do You Need To Know About E-Liquid
When buying e-liquid, it is important to keep in mind what coil you are using. The way that the VG:PG ratio reacts with the coil, will vary depending on the kit. In general, its recommended that beginners start with a 50:50 ratio, as most pod kits, vape pens, and vape kits will get good results with it.
Once you open a bottle of e-liquid, it will begin the process of oxidization. This is a slow process, and in most cases, it will be barely noticeable. However, if you have an e-liquid for over a year you will begin to see the juice break down, become sweeter, and begin to darken slightly. Higher nicotine content degrades faster and will lose some of its potency. Be sure to store your e-liquid away from heat and light to keep it fresh, and don’t be surprised if you notice a bit of color changes as this is perfectly safe and normal in most e-liquids.
